TMT prices track the cost of raw materials such as iron ore, coal and scrap, as well as mill production and seasonal demand. Manufacturers revise their rates frequently, often daily, and distributor prices follow.
Is GST included in the quoted TMT rate?
TMT bars attract 18% GST. Rates in the market are often quoted exclusive of GST, so always confirm whether a quotation is inclusive or exclusive. Our quotations state this clearly.
Why are 8 mm bars more expensive per kg than 16 mm bars?
Smaller diameters require more rolling passes and have lower mill output per hour, so manufacturers add a size extra to them. Mid-range sizes such as 12 to 25 mm usually carry the base rate.
Is there a discount for bulk orders?
